Inside Out

Mountains of Wisdom

“You never know what’s around the corner. It could be everything. Or it could be nothing. You keep putting one foot in front of the other, and then one day you look back and you’ve climbed a mountain.”

Tom Hiddleston

That’s all for today, another cold day in the Alaska Range. The sun rises a good deal above the horizon now, and did actually warm up our dark green side door in the morning. For a few minutes, at least. Now we are in for a few days of warmer temperatures and light snow fall.

Found some big animal tracks on Puntilla Lake this morning: A moose, or a solitary reindeer? I think it was a moose. I would love to see that majestic animal walking on the ice…

On the Northern end of the lake were a bunch caribou tracks heading up the valley to Rainy Pass.

Pitch black ravens watched me from the spruce tops making the weirdest noises. They were definitely talking about that strange animal with spindly arms and huge narrow feet in a puffy coat following in the caribou tracks.

The mountains keep changing their appearance.

Looking forward to another day climbing up the big hill called life.
