One Man's Paradise

Good bye, beautiful Alaska

Leaving the Alaska range today.

It has been a wonderful experience living near an impressive, remote mountain range for a whole year. One of the highlights was a flight around Denali at about 11,000 feet. Halfway between the ground and the towering peak above us. A view that cannot be put in words. I felt small, and grateful to witness this spectacular scenery. Shadows of peaks on the white glaciers, crevasses marring the surface, granite walls shedding snow, and fluffy clouds revealing and hiding ridges, snow fields, and valleys of ice.

The Range

A special place that I would like to touch with my eyes and feet again, one day.
