    • I have never seen a musher pitch a tent (in the race), maybe a sleeping bag and inside the sled for coverage, but that’s about it. They are hardy people. Training and working with the dogs in any weather. Many checkpoints have a cabin or a big tent, or a school hall for the mushers to take a nap. There is not much sleep during the race. Sleep deprivation is part of the game.
