Northern Hawk Owl

Northern Hawk Owl

The Northern Hawk Owl is one of the least studied birds in North America due to its low population density and its remote breeding locations. It is estimated that there are 10,000 to 50,000 pairs living in North America. The owl hunts during day and night, and likes to perch on top of exposed spruce trees.

Obviously the owl is not afraid of humans and I hope to see this beautiful bird more often in the coming months.
